DESCRIPTION: WW - Omega Seamaster XVI for the 1956 Melbourne Summer Olympic Games, ref 2850SC, automatic, 34mm x 41mm to lug tips, 18mm lug width, original 18K yellow gold screwed back case with angular lugs, embossed Olympic medallion on rear, no strap, refinished silvered dial with applied gold baton indices, applied XVI numerals in gold at 6, 24J cal 505, s#16103584, triple signed. Includes original inner Olympic box with applied Olympic crest and corduroy interior as well as unsigned open papers. Gross weight of assembled watch 22.8 dwt (35.5 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly flawless cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide, light discoloration to plates and rotor; refinished dial with very light surface spotting; gold dauphine hands; polished case shows light wear, several light dings on the backs of the lugs and back; Omega signed crown shows hardly any wear; good plastic crystal. Inner box shoes light wear to leather wrapped exterior, missing inner corduroy insert that holds watch in place.
